The Assistant Residence Hall Director (ARHD) is designed to contribute to the overall mission of Residential Programs in creating an exceptional on-campus living experience for residential students. The ARHD position is a 15-hour/week, live-in position in a residence hall that serves either first-year students, upper level students , or in a program house. The ARHD reports directly to the Residence Hall Director (RHD).
There are currently seven ARHD positions in Residential Programs; the number of open positions varies each year.
Cornell's first-year residence halls are communities centered on students’ first-year experience, where residents learn to live, socialize, and study at college together. Upperlevel residence halls work with sophomore through senior class level students and include large and small halls within a complex. Program Houses are themed communities where residents can develop and immerse themselves in a community with a shared interest, and are made up both of first-year and upperlevel students.
