Summer Housing

Information for Summer 2017


Cornell's Office of Residential and Event Services / Conference Services provides convenient on-campus housing for undergraduate and graduate/professional students participating in Summer Sessions, or conducting faculty-sponsored research during the summer months.

Applications for summer housing must be submitted at least 10 business days before your arrival.

Applications for summer dining meal plans will be accepted beginning April 1, 2017.

Undergraduate Students:

Accommodations:

Undergraduate students will stay in Rose House or Bethe House on Cornell's West Campus. Students requesting a double room may request a specific roommate. Live-in residential staff members are available to support students throughout their stay. Men and women will have separate bathroom facilities. A set of bed sheets, pillow and pillowcase, blanket, and two towels are provided. Self-service laundry facilities are located in the building. Only common areas (lounges, bathrooms) are cleaned daily. Bedrooms are not air conditioned, but ceiling fans are provided. Many rooms are suite style with three singles and one double per suite.

Rates and Date Ranges:

Undergraduate summer housing rates are $38.95 per night for a single, and $30.75 per night for a shared double, plus a one-time non-refundable $35 registration fee.

When you apply for summer housing, you will have the opportunity to request a date range for your stay. The minimum stay is 14 nights. Check-in begins at 2:00pm and check-out is by 10:00am on the departure day. Additional charges may apply for approved early check-in and late check-out.

Housing fees are refundable only if you officially withdraw through the Summer Session office. Refund requests must be submitted by email to the Office of Residential and Event Services / Conference Services (summersessionhsg@cornell.edu). All refunds are prorated and are assessed a $100 processing fee.

Note: Your housing contract is binding and you agree to the summer housing terms and conditions at the time you submit your housing application.

Graduate/Professional Students:

Accommodations:

Graduate students will stay in Cascadilla Hall, located in the heart of Cornell's vibrant Collegetown area. Single rooms are arranged along a corridor; floors are mixed gender, with lounges, study areas, a kitchen, a piano room, and self-service laundry facilities in the building.  Bedrooms contain an extra-long twin bed (36"x 80"), a closet and a bureau (or wardrobe-bureau combination), a desk with desk chair, a desk lamp, and a wastebasket. Rooms have wireless internet access.

Only common areas (lounges and bathrooms) receive daily cleaning. Bedrooms are not air conditioned, but fans are provided. 

Students are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Housing rates are $38.95 per night for a minimum stay of 14 nights, plus a one-time, nonrefundable $35 registration fee.
