Following on previous successes, Cornell University, the City of Ithaca, and the City and Local Affairs Committee of the Student Assembly will host the BEAR Walk: Community Fair on August 30th. The Purpose of the event is to help build a robust Collegetown community of students, full-time residents, the City of Ithaca, and Cornell University.

This exciting occasion brings together students, neighbors, city officials, Cornell staff, and local businesses who share the common goal of promoting a greater sense of community and connection throughout the vibrant Collegetown neighborhood.
The Community Fair will start with a welcome from the Big Red Band followed by remarks by Mayor Svante Myrick, Vice President for University Relations Joel Malina, and Student Assembly President Jordan Berger. Later, enjoy a cappella performances and visit resource tables where Cornell and Ithaca service providers will distribute health and safety information on becoming a good neighbor.

College Avenue between Oak Avenue and Dryden Road will be closed to all traffic on Tuesday, August 30, from 5 pm - 9 pm for the third annual BEAR (Being Engaged and Responsible) Walk and Health and Safety Info Fair.
